SOUTH WHITLEY — The Lady Wildcat basketball team not only battled West Noble Thursday night, but fought sickness and injury to pull out a 49-35 win over the Lady Chargers.
Head Coach Brandon Bradley said several players were sick and senior Katee Reiff was out with a knee injury, posing more of a challenge than their opponents.
“To be able to play the way they did tonight and not use it as a crutch shows how tough they are,” Bradley said.
Bradley had to rely on strong play from the bench with Whitko’s main guartds, Cagney Craig and Micaela Sylvester, limited on playing time.
“We had 11 players on the bench and we needed them all tonight,” Bradley said. “Our bench has been very steady. It’s nice to be able to put them in the game and not have to panic.”
