Lady ’Cats place fifth at Goshen

GOSHEN — Whitko’s girls track team placed fifth at the Goshen Relays Saturday.

Fairfield won the close meet, where less than 15 points separated the top three teams (Plymouth, Bremen).

Though the Lady Wildcats didn’t have any first-place finishes, they took second in several events.

The 800-meter relay team of Taylor Zwick, Elaine Warner, Llyssa Bennett and Josie Sparks came in second with a time of 1:58.11.

The distance medley relay team of Michelle Kelsey, Holly Frantz, Miranda Terril and Brigit Nemitz also placed second.

Terrill took second in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches. In the long jump, Zwick came in fourth and Reghan Craig placed sixth.

Nemitz took second in the mile run with a time of 5:46. 41. Kelsey came in seventh in the same event.

Whitko’s 400-meter relay squad of Warner, Reghan Craig, Cagney Craig and Frantz placed fourth with a time of 55.07.

The sprint medley relay team of Bennett, Sydney Sims, Bridgette Thomson and Ellyana Blue came in fifth with a time of 4:33.48.

Stephanie Wheeler took eighth in the discus with a toss of 84 feet, 3 inches.

Whitko’s conference meet is Thursday at Southwood High School.
