Whitkoâ€™s girls track team picked up a win in a four-way meet Tuesday night.
Though the weather was against them, the Lady Wildcats picked up several first-place finishes in the win.
â€śIt was a very blustery night for a track meet but we came out on top,â€ť said Whitko Head Coach Gary Sims.
Kaitlyn Reed placed first in the 100-meter dash, followed by teammate Abby Overmeyer in second. The 400-meter relay team of Abby Overmeyer, Elaine Warner, Reghan Craig and Lauren Riemersma also picked up a win.
Miranda Terrill won the 400-meter dash follwed by teammate Lyndsey Sapp in third. In the discus, Dana Hobbs picked up a win. Hobbs also placed third in the shot put.
Whitkoâ€™s Taylor Zwick cam in third in discus. Zwick won the long jump, followed by teammate Warner in second. Reed placed second in the high jump, follwed by Miranda Terrill in third. Michelle Kelsey placed third in the two-mile run, and Overmeyer came in second in the 200-meter dash.
Reed placed third in the event.
Warner came in second in the 300-meter hurdles.
The 1,600-meter relay team of Sapp, Terrill, Madison Cook and Brigit Nemitz also placed second.
Nemitz took third in the 800-meter run, and fourth in the 1,600-meter run. The 3,200-meter relay team of Kelsey, Sapp, Cook and Courtney Edwards began the meet with a third-place finish.
The Lady Wildcats are back in action tonight at Wabash.
