Lady Eagles fall to Angola, West Noble

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s girls tennis team fell to Angola and West Noble this week, both by a score of 5-0.

Against Angola Tuesday, No. 3 singles Kayleen Mitchell and No. 1 doubles Maggie Kitt and Katee Baxter were the lone players to win a set, both falling 6-0, 6-1.

The rest of the matches lost by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Madi Cook played the No. 1 singles match and Nikki Esslinger had No. 2. Alexis Helbert and Kaley Scott played the No. 2 doubles match.

The Lady Eagles posted a similar score against West Noble.

The No. 2 doubles team of Helbert and Scott scored two points, losing 6-1, 6-1.

Liz Brooks, No. 3 singles, lost 6-0, 6-1.

The rest of the matches lost 6-0, 6-0. Esslinger took her turn at No. 1 singles against the Lady Chargers, while Cook played No. 2 singles. Kitt and Baxter kept their positions at No. 1 doubles.

The Lady Eagles are now 0-9, and host Blackhawk Christian tonight.
