COLUMBIA CITY — Not many coaches can find positives after an extra-inning loss, but Columbia City Head Girls Softball Coach Steve Cox is an exception.

“I love those games,” Cox said. “I don’t like losing, but I love those games.”

The Lady Eagles dropped a 2-0 game to Leo at Morsches Park.

It was a battle of the defenses, as the game held a 0-0 score through the beginning of the eight inning.

In the top of the eighth, with Leo at bat, one out and a runner on first base, the next batter hit a double to put base runners on second and third.
