COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s girls tennis team edged out Leo Wednesday night, 3-2, in Columbia City.
No. 1 singles Celine Rongos won her match, 6-1, 6-1.
Both doubles teams also picked up wins. Breanna Hicks and Sydney Ford defeated the Lady Lions 6-3, 6-4. In No. 2 doubles, Blake Farber and Macie Hinen beat Leo 6-3, 6-2.
Columbia City’s two losses were close matches, with both going into extra sets.
In No. 2 singles, Adrianna Brown lost the first game 6-4, won the second 6-1 and lost the third 6-4. Alaina Beckner lost the first game 6-3, won the second 6-4 and lost the final game 7-6 (7-2) in No. 3 singles.
The varsity record is now 6-5.
The Lady Eagles are next in action tonight at New Haven.
