Lady Eagles pitch perfect game; win 10-0

FORT WAYNE — Pitchers Cassie Vodde and Krysten VanHouten combined for a perfect game Friday night at Northrop.

Columbia City’s softball team, now 9-5, beat the Lady Bruins 10-0 in five innings.

Though the Lady Eagles were scoreless in the first inning, they found their bats in the second, scoring seven runs.

Columbia City added another run in the third and two more in the fourth.
The Lady Eagles held onto their 10-0 lead through the fifth inning to win by the 10-run-rule.

Not only did Northrop not score, but VanHouten and Vodde pitched for a combined 11 strike-outs on 15 Northrop batters.

The Lady Eagles have a double-header today at Bishop Dwenger, starting at 10 a.m.
