CROMWELL — Laura G. Squires, 91, of Cromwell, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at North Ridge Village, Albion.
She was born March 28, 1920 in Portland, Indiana, a daughter of Howard L. and Etta (Ashley) Williams.
Her formative years were spent in the Portland area where she completed her education.
On Dec. 23, 1944 she was united in marriage to Robert R. Squires. They made their home in Fort Wayne until 1989 when they moved to Knapp Lake. Mr. Squires died Oct. 12, 1999.
Surviving relatives include two children, Vicki (Edward) Becker of Cromwell and Steven E. Squires of Bon Aqua Tenn.; four grandchildren, Angela Kay Vitalone, Dawn M. Grimes, Steven R. Squires and Joelle Chappel; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Doyle Eugene Williams and Richard L. Williams, both of Portland; and a sister, Ioma Rothburn of Auburn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Roger Williams, Vernie J. Williams, Bill Williams, Ned J. Williams and Melvin L. Williams.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The burial will be in Nolt Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
