Lawrence Pressler, 62

COLUMBIA CITY — Lawrence “Larry” W. Pressler, 62, of Columbia City, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born March 19, 1949, in Wabash, a son of Larry G. and Betty (Stark) Pressler.
His formative years were spent in South Whitley.
He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1967. He then attended Sams Technical Institute, Indianapolis.
On June 19, 1971, he was united in marriage to Melanie J. Kyler. They made their home in Columbia City.
For the past 20 years, he was employed by Drudge Screw Products, Warsaw in the engineering department.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 40 years, Melanie; two daughters, Juliette “Julie” (William) Branning, Fort Wayne and Gretchen L. Pressler, Columbia City; his beloved dog, Fiedler; six grandchildren, Jeffery, Ryan, Kyler, Addie, Lily and Luke; an aunt, Bernina Rish of Farmington Hills, Mich.; his in-laws, Lynn and June Kyler; two brothers-in-law, Patrick (Barb) Kyler, and Tim Kyler both of Columbia City and a sister-in-law, Melinda (Ron) Puckett, Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patty Pressler.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, 101 E. North Street, Columbia City with Pastor Philip Rittner II officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church.
