Lecinda Marie Kiesling, 72, of rural Columbia City, died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at her home.
She was born July 19, 1938 in Wolf Lake a daughter of Prentiss and Dortha (Daisy) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Wolf Lake. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On June 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Robert L. â€śTonyâ€ť Kiesling. They made their first home in Tampa, Fla., residing throughout the United States while Tony served in the United States Air Force. In 1974 they moved to Fort Wayne and in 1991 to their home in rural Columbia City. Mr. Kiesling died May 11, 2007.
A devoted Christian, she taught pre-school at the Big Lake Church of God for approximately six years and was an active member of the Wolf Lake Baptist Church. In addition to her love of children, she loved animals, providing care and sanctuary.
She is survived by two daughters, Tracey (Gary Bohrer) Carteaux of Fort Wayne and Amanda (Wesley) Woods of Saline, Mich.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Kiesling; two sisters, Lenora Leitch and Monna Parks; and a brother, Frank Miller.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wolf Lake Baptist Church, 1133 South Main Street, Wolf Lake with Rev. Daniel Carlson, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Wolf Lake Cemetery. The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
