March 26, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY – Former Whitley County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) board members John Lefever and Jim Argerbright were recently honored for their service to economic development in Whitley County with Special Resolutions from the Indiana General Assembly. The Resolutions were sponsored by State Representative Kathy Heuer and State Senator Jim Banks.

“Jim & John were consistently the best prepared, most engaged members of the EDC’s board of directors,” said EDC president Alan Tio, “Through their business and community involvement, and service in local office, Jim and John have participated in every major community initiative and economic development project in Whitley County in the past 20 years.”

Lefever served on the EDC board from 1994 until 2011, including the positions of chairman, vice chair and treasurer.

Argerbright served on the EDC board from 2005 until 2011 and carried the positions of chairman, vice chair and treasurer.

In December of 2011, Lefever & Argerbright completed their appointed terms. Richard Buchanan and C. Robin Wright, both of STAR Financial Bank, have filled their roles as Columbia City and financial representative respectively.
