Leland William “Bill” Ginger, 75, of Syracuse, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born July 21, 1935 in Columbia City, to Kenneth and Jessie (Lehman) Ginger.

He served for 27 years in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Milly Ginger; three daughters, Teresa and Claudia; a son, Kevin Ginger; one stepdaughter, Beth Woods; two stepsons, Steve Savage and Joe Savage; two sisters, Sharon Ordatand Kay Carter.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. David Herr of the church officiating. Military graveside services will follow at the Hire Cemetery in Ligonier by Syracuse VFW and LaGrange American Legion.

Memorial bequests may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46526. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
