Lester Menzie, 79

Lester “Bud” E. Menzie, 79, of Pierceton, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne.

He was born July 11, 1931 in Columbia City to John and Edith (Whiteleather) Menzie. He lived in Pierceton since 1976, living in Larwill previously. On May 15, 1959, he married Alice Eman in Olympia, Wash.

He worked for Kolbin Tool and Die as a machine operator and retired in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Post 256. He was a Korean War Veteran; a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Menzie of Pierceton; two sons, Brian (Valerie) Menzie of Columbia City and Jeffrey (Mardelle) Menzie of Warsaw; two sisters, Marilynne Ramp of Fort Wayne and Joyce (Keith) Clelane of Pierceton; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral service will be privately held and not open to the public. Burial will be at Larwill Cemetery in Larwill. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Pierceton is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pierceton Fire Department, Pierceton, IN 46562.
