Lewis Wolfe, 66

ROANOKE — Lewis C. Wolfe, 66, of Roanoke, died at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne where he was admitted Tuesday evening following a short battle with lung cancer.
He was born March 8, 1946, in Wolf Lake, a son of Harry W. and Doris M. (Bennett) Wolfe Jr.
His formative years were spent in Etna Troy Township.
He graduated from Larwill High School and received an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
He worked at Essex Wire and Cable for 11 years, owned and operated an automatic car wash on Oxford Street in Fort Wayne and retired from Auburn Gear in 2011.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Dawn (Dane) Anderson, Teri Wolfe and Sara Hord, all of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; his mother, Doris M. Wolfe of Larwill; and two brothers, Thomas H. (Linda) Wolfe of Huntington and Kurt (Karen) Wolfe of Columbia City.
His father preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Hospice Home or Riley Children’s Hospitals.
