Library sets March events

COLUMBIA CITY — The Peabody Public Library, Columbia City, recently announced its events for March.

Cancellations

• Tatting has been cancelled until April.
•There is no Yoga on Thursday, March 20.
•Yoga will be cancelled on those days that Whitley County Consolidated Schools are closed.

Special events

Jeopardy! 2014
•Tuesday, March 4, 11 at 6 p.m.
Come watch the Albertsons defend their title.

Writers contest
•Friday, March 28 by 6 p.m.
Entries for the PBS Kids Go! & PPL Writers Contest are due.

Fishing for muskies
•Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
Randy Bush discusses this freshwater predator.

Hammered dulcimer
•Monday, March 17 at 5 p.m.
Join Becky Walter for music on St. Patrick’s Day.

Spring break activities

Microsoft Excel, ages 12 and older
•Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m; Tuesday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 29 at 1:30 p.m.
Create worksheets and enter basic data. You must know how to use a mouse.

Microsoft Excel intermediate, ages 12 and older.
•Monday, March 17 at 10 a.m.; Tuesday, March 18 at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 29 at 3 p.m.
Sort and filter data with advanced features. You must know how to use a mouse.

Cypress resume
•Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m.; Tuesday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 29 at 9:30 a.m.
Resumes and cover letters made easy.

Mastering your smartphone/tablet
•Monday, March 10 at 10 a.m. ; Tuesday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 29 at 11:30 a.m.
Everything from texting to downloading pictures. Please bring all your cords for your devices.

Learning internet
•Thursday, March 13 at 2 p.m.; Thursday, March 20 at 10 a.m.
Surf the web safely plus set-up and check an email account. Classes will be streamed on our website www.ppl.lib.in.us. Go to “Services” then “Classes” and you can watch the class you missed!!

•Saturday, March 1 at 11:30 a.m.
Nancy Zummack shows you the ins and outs of planning your wedding ceremony.

This month’s movie is Daisy Kenyon starring Joan Crawford, Dana Andrews and Henry Fonda.

Musical tribute to the CCC Boys
•Sunday, March 9 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Recalling FDR’s conservation works program, which employed teenagers in wilderness work.
