LIGHTS AND HEAT: Columbia City show choir opens season

FORT WAYNE — Columbia City High School’s show choirs competed at Northrop High School Saturday.

The contest was the first competition of the season for both groups. City Heat, a male and female mixed choir, took 5th runner up and City Lights, an all female group, took 3rd runner up.

Darrik Brower was named City Heat’s Outstanding Performer and Hannah Schaefer was awarded Outstanding Performer for City Lights.

Both groups are accompanied by City Soul, an instrumental group directed by Carolyn Hindbaugh.

Assisting the groups on stage is City Crew. The choirs are directed by Rosalie Geller and choreographed by Jason Johnson.

Saturday, the groups will compete at Dekalb High School.
