Local author to hold book signing

March 11, 2014

SOUTH WHITLEY — A local author will be present at a book signing Thursday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the South Whitley Community Public Library.

Gloria Doty is a published Christian writer, author, speaker and blogger. She has five children, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was born in Allen County, but lived in Whitley County for 40 years. She currently lives in Fort Wayne, with her adult autistic daughter, one dog, and two cats.

She has had various occupations and experiences in her lifetime, and she writes about the lessons she has learned. Her recently published book entitled, “Not Different Enough,” tells of the everyday experiences of life with her daughter, Kalisha, and their 30-year journey with autism, Asperger’s and intellectual disabilites. The book contains no diets, therapies or cures — only humor, faith and some heartbreak.
