COLUMBIA CITY — A new date, but the same tradition.
The Whitley County Expo is set for Saturday, March 16. It will be held at Indian Springs Middle School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“March 16 is about a month earlier than it was last year,” said Doug Brown, executive director for the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce.
The expo is the chamber’s annual gathering to highlight area businesses and nonprofits. With the event previously held later in the spring, Brown said those dates were difficult for landscaping businesses.
“We moved it up for the landscapers and other out door-type businesses,” he said. “But we aren’t totally reinventing the wheel with the expo.”
Brown expects the event to be a continued success and said it is a great chance for businesses to be out in the public eye.
“It is a great opportunity to take advantage of,” he said. “It usually draws 1,000 people and is a great opportunity for a business to be in front of that many people.”
Individuals may register through the chamber’s web site, http://www.whitleychamber.com/ or by mail at: Whitley County Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 166, Columbia City, IN 46725.
Parking and admission to the event are free. Attendees will also receive specials, discounts and door prizes.
