Local child care program awarded

SOUTH WHITLEY — Sonshine Child Care Ministry, in South Whitley, has achieved a Level 2 rating in Paths to Quality.

Paths to Quality is Indiana’s rating and improvement system for child care programs.

It is a consistent set of standards to help parents identify licensed family child care centers, licensed family child care homes, and unlicensed registered ministries that have met state requirements for health and safety.

“This is one more step we are taking to constantly improve the quality of our child care program,” said Jodi Sims, of Sonshine Child Care. “Paths to Quality provides my staff with additional training so that we can plan consistent daily schedules and activities, including reading, literacy, math and science.”

Paths to Quality is a voluntary statewide system, created to improve the quality of child care and early educaiton for children.
