SOUTH WHITLEY — Town council members had numerous issues on their agenda Tuesday night that will eventually impact South Whitley residents.
However, decisions were tabled until the next meeting of the South Whitley Town Council, June 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Policies and ordinances being discussed revolved around the town’s grass clipping collection as well as utility shut-offs.
Traditionally, South Whitley residents living within the town limits have been able to have their grass clippings collected by the town.
However, this is a luxury that is becoming a burden for town workers. At the last meeting, South Whitley Town Council members weighed several options that would possibly ease the workers’ load during this time of year.
Dave Wilkinson, the town’s manager, talked with his crew and determined that bagged grass isn’t a problem as long as the bags are not more than 35 pounds.
