Lois Pulley, 87

Lois Marie Pulley, 87, of Columbia City, died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at her residence. Born April 15, 1925, in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Clarence David and Hulda M. (Anderson) Leininger.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 1943. On Dec. 24, 1946, she married Homer LeRoy Pulley in Columbia City.
She lived most of her lifetime in the Columbia City area where she served as the secretary of the Whitley County Welfare Department for 35 years. She was an avid reader and attended all sporting events for all her children.
Surviving relatives include her five children, Paul E. Pulley of Twin Lakes, Wis., Patricia Kay Williams of Ephrata, Pa., Pamelia M. Pulley of Columbia City, Preston L. Pulley of Columbia City and Phillip LeRoy (Treasea) Pulley of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer LeRoy Pulley; sister, Virginia Johnson and brothers, Henry Hank and George Leininger.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Curtiss Johnson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.
Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Pulley to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visit to send family condolences or sign the guest register book.
