Louis E. Wuellner, 82, of Tri-Lakes, died Saturday, Feb 5, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital.
Born to Edgar and Gertrude (Lichtsinn) Wuellner in Indianapolis, he graduated from Butler University in 1951, and served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant JG. He worked at RCA in Pennsauken, N.J. and Marion. He retired from ITT in Fort Wayne after 29 years of service.
After retiring in 1991, he moved to Tri-Lakes and enjoyed a long retirement on the lake. His passions were birds and classical music. He was a volunteer radio host for Northern Indiana Public Radio (WBNI) for nearly 30 years He was a long-time member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, and he will be remembered for his kind and gentle way, and for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving companion, Evelyn Platt; daughters, Pamela Wolfe of Fort Wayne and Rebecca (Kevin) Freimuth of Noblesville; son, David (Connie) of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Erin, Ashley, Abby and Adrienne Wolfe, Madison and Hannah Freimuth and Kiley and Heather Wuellner; grandsons, Christian and Kiel Wuellner; and great-grandchildren, Skylar and Addison Wuellner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Patricia; and granddaughter, Courtney Wuellner. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St. in Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery.
