December 16, 2011

Keith and Frances Nicodemus are celebrating their 70-year wedding anniversary. They are holding a framed photograph of their wedding from Christmas Day 1941. Their advice to young couples is priceless.

COLUMBIA CITY — He took one look at her and knew she was going to be his bride.
What Keith Nicodemus didn’t know was that Frances would be his bride for 70 years.
Keith and Frances were skating at the Happy Valley Roller Rink in Columbia City but didn’t know each other.
“I was with Eldon Anderson and I told him that girl was going to be my wife,” said Keith.
Eldon told him he was crazy.
“I rebutted and told him that before the night was over I’ll have a date with her. The next day was her 18th birthday and we went to a service at the Oak Grove Church of God. That was our first date. It was at my church,” he said.

The Nicodemuses' 70-year marriage – and priceless advice to young couples – is featured in the Weekend Edition of The Post & Mail at your Whitley County newsstand.
