Lowell Bodine 84

Lowell B. Bodine, age 84, of Columbia City, passed away at 5:58 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born Aug. 17, 1927, in Maybee, Mich., he was the son of Benjamin C. and Lucille (Yost) Bodine.
He graduated from Dundee High School, Dundee, Mich. with the Class of 1946.
A Whitley County resident since 2009, he was a former resident of Lake James and Michigan.
On June 12, 1948, he married Phyllis A. Wiseman in Maybee, Mich. After 33 years of service, he retired December, 1987, from National Life Insurance.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Phyllis A. Bodine of Columbia City; daughter, Barbara A. (Steve) Gross of Columbia City; son, David L. Bodine of Grayling, Mich.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lennon and Harry Bodine.
Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Faucett officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Township Cemetery, Coesse.
Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Bodine to Parkview Oaks.
