Madge Harshbarger, 88

Madge L. (White) Harshbarger, 88, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Born in Whitley County, Madge worked as a clerk with the Indiana Department of Transportation for 11 years, retiring Sept. 1, 1986.
She was a member of Saint Joseph United Methodist Church; St. Joe United Methodist Women; Eastern Star #432; Worthy Matron in 1995; was a volunteer at a community center for two years and Parkview Seniors for 12 years.
She loved to travel with friends.
Surviving are her son, Jay F. Harshbarger of Fort Wayne; daughters, Rita L. Bennett of Avilla and Carol S. Harshbarger of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and brother, Paul E. White of Rhode Island.
Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Ford F. Harshbarger; parents, Asa J. and Mary K. (DeMoney) White; great-grandson, Rigo; brother, Kenneth White; sister, Evelyn Knapp; daughter-in-law, Gloria Harshbarger; son-in-law, Richard Bennett and nephew, Phil Knapp.
The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior.
Rev. Greg Byman will officiate. Calling will also be Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home with a Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
