Man faces multiple charges

November 22, 2010

The Columbia City man arrested by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department last week on several drug-related charges was in court Monday morning.
Wayne Lynn Weaver, 40, faces one count each of dealing in and manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and controlled substances as well as failure to comply.
Weaver is also accused of possession of two or more precursors with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
Weaver was in Whitley County Circuit Court on Monday for an initial hearing.
Circuit Court Judge James Heuer set the pre-trial conference for Dec. 20.
No trial has yet been set and the bond amount was set at $100,000.
Weaver was arrested Nov. 16 after a traffic stop by a sheriff’s deputy. Police say Weaver already had an outstanding warrant and was immediately taken into custody, suspected of operating a methamphetamine lab.
