MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX CRIMES: Kincaid to be sentenced for misconduct with 14-year-old

July 25, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — A Columbia City man pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday.

Bradley D. Kincaid, 21, admitted to having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in May.

Kincaid originally faced two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. As part of a plea agreement, one charge was dismissed in exchange for his admission of guilt.

Sexual misconduct with a minor is a Class C felony, which carries a sentencing range of two to eight years. Judge James Heuer has total discretion on sentencing, as there was no stipulation in the plea agreement regarding length of incarceration.

The crime occurred in May. Columbia City Police Detective Chip Stephenson received a complaint from a local woman, claiming her 14-year-old daughter had sex with a 20-year-old man.
