Man pleads not guilty in Hosler burglary

COLUMBIA CITY — A man accused of breaking into an appliance store and stealing property pleaded not guilty in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday.

Steven W. Slater, 38, of Columbia City, was arrested Jan. 26 for three charges of burglary, one charge of theft and two charges of criminal mischief.

Case reports indicate Columbia City Police officers were advised about two burglaries that had occurred at Hosler’s TV and Appliance in the month of January, 2014.

Officers found a three-hole brick at both locations. A sound bar was reported missing.
