Manchester tops ’Cats, City

NORTH MANCHESTER — Manchester hosted Whitko and Columbia City at Sycamore Golf Course in North Manchester Thursday. The Lady Squires fired a 182 to win. Columbia City placed second with 200 and Whitko shot a 217.

Manchester posted three scores sub-50, including medalist Lindsay Budnik’s 40. Of the Whitley County School’s, Jackie Leeuw scored the best with a 47, followed by Jessica Klemm with a 48.

Cheyenne Johnson scored a 51, Allison Yoder finished with a 52 and Macenzie Lane had a 53. Sydney Ford was Columbia City’s No. 6 with a 57.

Whitko’s April Bishop led her team with a 51. Taylor Pottenger and Samantha Shell each scored a 55. Emily Weigold finished with a 56, Hannah Himes had a 57 and Elizabeth Gensch shot a 70.

Both teams will play the sectional match at Stonehenge in Warsaw Saturday at 11 a.m.
