Marcia Himes, 61

Marcia Mabel Himes, 61, of South Whitley, died at 12:12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at The Waters of Summit City in Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 7, 1949 in Huntington, she was a daughter of H. June and Ruby (Jenkins) Mishler.

She graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1967. On June 20, 1969 she married Lee A. Himes in South Whitley. She worked for Gripco and Johnson Brothers in South Whitley, but her favorite career was that of homemaker, wife and mother. A resident of South Whitley for the majority of her lifetime, she moved to Fort Wayne in 2003.
She is survived by her son, Travis “TJ” (Amanda) Himes of Columbia City; five grandchildren, Jaelyn, Jagger and Ryker Himes of Columbia City and Hannah and Shayla Himes of Pierceton; three sisters, Monna (Gene) Crawford of Lake City, Fla., Marlene (Rob) Mishler and Millie Mishler, both of South Whitley; and brother, Milan (Suzy) Mishler of North Manchester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee A. Himes Aug. 31, 2005; son, Wade S. Himes Jan. 2, 2009; and brothers, Mick and Manford Mishler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Wike of Community of Hope Church officiating. Burial will follow at South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley.
