Margaret Menzie, 100

Margaret L. Menzie, 100, of Pierceton, went to be with the Lord at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake.
The daughter of Carl and Cleo Earnhart, she was born March 12, 1911 in Cromwell. She married Howard Menzie Oct. 21, 1947 in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Margaret grew up on a farm near Pierceton. She lived nearly her whole life in the Pierceton area. She graduated from Pierceton High School and also attended Cummins School for elementary school, which was a one-room school northeast of Pierceton.
Before she was married, she worked for Zollner Pistons and the telephone company in Fort Wayne. Then later in life, she worked at the Kosciusko County Courthouse, for both the treasurer and auditor’s offices.
She was a member of the Pierceton United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau for many years. She enjoyed making baskets and stuffed bears to give away. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble and Upwords with her friends.
Margaret is survived by her son, Phil (Debbie) Menzie, Pierceton; four grandchildren, Ann Menzie of Minneapolis, Minn., Becky (Joel) Roman of Plainfield, Katie (Mike) Hall of Winter Haven, Fla. and Brian Menzie of Pierceton; and four great-grandchildren, Faith, Audra, Gabi and Hudson Roman of Plainfield.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers; Aurel Earnhart, Hollis Earnhart, Carl V. Earnhart and Robert Earnhart.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Pierceton United Methodist Church with Pastors Mike and Katie Hall officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
The family requests memorial contributions are to be made to Pierceton United Methodist Church or SonLight Preschool at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
