Marian Corbin, 82

COLUMBIA CITY — Marian L. Corbin, 82, formerly of rural Columbia City, went to Heaven at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011.
God has shown her the path and is awaiting her arrival in Heaven.
She had been a resident at Englewood Nursing Home, Fort Wayne since Dec. 29, 2010.
She was born March 16, 1929 in Missouri Valley, Iowa a daughter of William Henry and Inez L. (Filkins) Miller.
Her formative years were spent in Eddyville, Iowa. She graduated with the Class of 1947 from Eddyville High School.
In 1961, she moved to Loon Lake. She was employed at Dana Weatherhead for 15 years, retiring in the mid-1970s.
On Aug. 24, 1973, she was united in marriage to Jesse D. Corbin.
They spent their married life on a farm in Washington Township, Whitley County.
Mr. Corbin has been waiting for Marian to join him since his death on Jan. 16, 1990.
Her memberships included American Legion Post #98 Auxiliary.
Surviving relatives include her son, Billy E. (Mary Jo) Rice of Fort Wayne; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Draper of Lincoln Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Billy Benjamin Rice; a brother, Robert E. Miller; and two sisters, Rebecca Miller and Beverly Henry.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
The burial will be in Blue River Cemetery. The visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Allen County SPCA. Condolences may be sent to www.smithandsonsfuneralhome.com.
