Marilyn Barker, 81

Marilyn C. Barker, 81, of Pierceton, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at her residence at Peabody Retirement Community.
Born in Pierceton, she was a daughter of Jacob Clair and Catherine Marie (Beigh) McCarter. She married Harold T. Barker, Jan. 16, 1949 in Pierceton.
A 1947 Pierceton High School graduate, she was an office clerk for L.M. Berry retiring in 1987 after 18 years.
She was a member of Pierceton United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years; a member of Pierceton United Methodist Women, serving as president for 18 years; a life member of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 57, Pierceton; and a life member of Pierceton Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Thomas H. (Nancy) Barker of Pierceton; a daughter, Roseanne Barker of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Robert T. (Ann) Barker of Winona Lake, Mary C. (John) Britvich of Yorkville, Ill. and Leigh R. Barker of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Barker, at home.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary McCarter, Aug. 29, 1950.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly White of Pierceton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
