Marilynne Ramp, 88

Marilynne J. Ramp, 88, of New Haven, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 21, 2011 at Parkview Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1922 in Larwill, a daughter of John L. and Edythe J. (Whiteleather) Menzie. Her formative years were spent in Larwill and she graduated from Larwill High School.
On Sept. 23, 1942 she married the love of her life, George J. “Jack” Ramp. Following his discharge from the Army Air Corps, they made their home in Larwill for a short time before moving to Fort Wayne and later New Haven. Mr. Ramp died April 20, 1979. In 1986 she moved to Palmetto, Fla. until returning to New Haven in 2007.
She was a member of Palmetto United Methodist Church, volunteered at its Thrift Shop and Clan Menzie Society.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Jacqueline (Allen) Plasterer of New Haven, Rebecca (Timothy) Johnson of Indianapolis and Sarah (Donald) Smith of New Haven; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Cleland of Pierceton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson; brother, Lester Menzie; and a sister, Virginia Finch.
The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill.
