Marjorie Brown, 77

Marjorie K. Brown, 77, of Fort Wayne, died at 10:28 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Summit City Nursing & Rehabilitation where she had been a resident since 1995.
She was born May 23, 1935, in Peru, a daughter of William R. and Esther N. (Biggs) Yaney.
Her formative years spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School and attended Hanover College. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and was a member of Phi Mu.
She first worked at Syracuse Elementary School before moving to California where she taught at Livermore School for more than 10 years. She then returned to Columbia City before moving to Fort Wayne.
Surviving relatives include her brother, William R. (Joyce) Yaney Jr. of Churubusco and a nephew, Patrick Yaney of Fort Wayne. The graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Greenhill Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Preferred memorials are to Whitley County Historical Society.
