Marjory Mathias, 95

LARWILL — Marjory A. Mathias, 95, of rural Larwill, died at 7:08 p.m. Friday Oct. 7, 2011 at her home.
She was born April 3, 1916 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Ray and Waneta (Rollins) Howenstine.
Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. She graduated from Columbia City High School.
On April 11, 1934, she was united in marriage to John R. Mathias.
They made their home on a farm in rural Larwill where she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Larwill Wesleyan Church, a 55-year member of Eastern Star, Richland Township Homemakers and the Larwill Lions Club.
Surviving relatives include her son, William R. Mathias, and a daughter, Beverly K. Keel, both of Columbia City; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Howenstine, Jim Howenstine and Glen Howenstine.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
The burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Larwill Lions Club or 4H Dairy Club.
