Life coaching
Free life coaching sessions will be offered at the Peabody Library starting Wednesday and continuing on Aug. 8, 15 and 22.

Radio test
The Whitley County W5YI Amateur Radio Test will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Community Room A and B of the Peabody Library. For additional information visit www.wcarc.org or contact Roger McEntarfer via email at n9qcl@arrl.net or call 503-9008.

Bus trips
A Riverside Charter bus trip to Chicago will take place Saturday for $55. Aug. 5, there will be a trip to FireKeepers Casino. The cost is $35 and includes $20 slot play and $5 food credit. For more information contact Lisa Kimmell 739-7159.

Ice cream social
Indiana Farm Bureau, district 2, will sponsor an ice cream social Sunday at the Whitley County Fairgrounds from 2 to 4 p.m. Those who attend will experience homemade ice cream made by the Steuben County Farm Bureau to honor the district 2 scholarship recipients. The community is welcome to bring cookies or a dessert to share. Table service, drinks and ice cream toppings will be provided. The event will be held near the Ag Museum.
Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, but picnic tables will be available. For more information contact Kerry Goshert at 574-328-0739.

Mammography
Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography will be coming to Whitley County Thursday, Aug. 2 at USSI, 4578 E. Park 30 Dr., Columbia City.

Class reunion

Class reunion
The 35th class reunion for the class of 1977 will be Friday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, the class will meet at 7 p.m. for a “meet and greet” at Portside Pizza in Tri-Lakes. Saturday, the class will host a sit down dinner at the Brownstone Cafe, South Whitley. Class reunion
The Columbia City High School class of 1952 will hold its 60th class reunion at Eagles Nest Event Center, 125 S. Eagle Glen, Columbia City at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4. Event ogranizers are still trying to locate Eugene Bray, Sara Coy, Ardella Brown, Margaret Gustufson, Carolyn Egolf, Dan Wright, Dean Schoel, Nancy Ramp and Phil Weeks. Sounds of Summer
Peabody Public Library, in conjunction with the Whitley County Community Foundation, presents “Sound of Summer,” the annual summer concert series. All concerts will be held on the lawn behind the library, beginning at 6 p.m. The concerts will be held rain or shine. Kenny Taylor will perform Saturday, Aug. 4. Kenny entertains with soft rock, sixties music and Elvis songs. Scratch & Sniff will entertain Saturday, Aug. 25. In keeping with past series, this is a local band led by Mark Roberts. They will be playing rock and roll.

5k race and walk
Witnessing Our Lord’s Forgiveness will be having a 5k race and walk Saturday, Aug. 4 in Wolf Lake. The race will begin at 8 a.m. with registration between 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Registration is currently taking place and will last until Tuesday. The cost is $15 per person and includes a T-shirt or $10 per person without a T-shirt. The South Whitley High School graduating class of 1946 will meet at the Brownstone on State in South Whitley for a pre-Triennial Reunion at noon on Saturday, Aug. 11.

The Whitko Class of 1972 will be holding its 40th class reunion Aug. 11 at the Larwill Community Building. Women’s workshop
“How to Get a Grip on Emotions,” presented by reVision Women’s Ministry, is a free workshop open to all women, Saturday Aug. 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This workshop will teach practical tools in emotional management.
The workshop is free, but a freewill donation is encouraged. Refreshments will be served. Childcare will not be provided. Alumni reunion
South Whitley High School graduates are invited to come back to school this summer. The class of 1963 is organizing, “Those Were the Days,” and encourages classmates who have not responded to their invitation to do so right away. The 36th Triennial Alumni Reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 11 at Whitko High School in South Whitley. Since there is ample room in the Whitko gymnasium for alumni and their guests, organizers have extended the reservation deadline to Wednesday.

Ice cream social
Oak Grove United Methodist Church will host an ice cream social Saturday, Aug. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. Soft serve ice cream will be available in vanilla, chocolate, lemon and strawberry with toppings offered. Also on the menu will be sloppy joes, hot dogs, chips, pies, cakes and cookies. A freewill donation is encouraged and carry outs will be available for a price. Proceeds will to toward UMCOR for storm relief.
