â€˘ Library contest - 6 p.m.
The Peabody Public Library will host its annual Jeopardy! contest Tuesdays, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. There is no fee to be involved, and the library is searching for participants.

Thursday, Feb. 20
â€˘Blood drive - 1 p.m.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Churubusco United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall, located at 750 N. Main St. in Churubusco.
Saturday, Feb. 22
â€˘Historical event - 11 a.m.
On Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m., the Whitley County Historical Museum will be hosting George Ironstrack, Myaamia tribal educator and historian, to speak on the 1812-1814 historical accounts of Chief Little Turtle and William Wells in the Whitley County area.
Admission to this program is free. This program was made possible in part by a grant from the Whitley County Community Foundation.
The Whitley County Historical Museum, housed in the home of Thomas Riley Marshall, is dedicated to preserving the history of Whitley County.
This is achieved through educational programs, artifact preservation and collection, exhibits, publications, and collaboration with related groups.The museum is located at 108 W. Jefferson Street in Columbia City. Hours are Tuesdays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays, 9 am to noon. Admission is free.
Monday, March 3
â€˘9th grade mtg. - 7 p.m.
Whitko High School will be holding a meeting for parents of current 8th grade students Monday, March 3, at 7 p.m. in the Whitko High School auditorium where they will learn about high school diploma options, the scheduling process, course selections, athletic eligibility and much more. All parents of Whitko 8th grade students are encouraged to attend.
Saturday, March 8
â€˘Team Boggs benefit - 5 p.m.
A dinner and auction is planned for Saturday, March 8 at the VFW in South Whitley to raise funds for Team Boggsâ€™ MDA participation.
Bill Boggs, of South Whitley, and his team will hold a dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. and an auction at 7 p.m. to generate donations for the MDA walk slated for March 16 at IPFW.The dinner is offered for a free will donation and will be held in a smoke free environment. Wednesday, March 12
â€˘Legion meeting - 6 p.m.
The Garrett American Legion Post 178 will have a meeting on Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2014. at 6 p.m. The topic of the meeting will be â€śAgent Orange.â€ť If you are a Vietnam Veteran or had a family member there, your invited to come join. Brain Lamm will be there.
Admission is free. You do not need to be a member of the Post 178. Garrett American Legion Post 178 address is 515 W 15 Ave. on the south end of Garrett.
Saturday, March 15
â€˘Pasta meal - 5 p.m.
â€śA Night In Italy,â€ť a pasta meal to benefit the Salvation Army of Whitley County, will be held Saturday, March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Columbia City. For more information, including pricing, contact Linda Scott at 248-4322.
Tuesday, March 18
â€˘Rotary auction - 5:45 p.m.
Churubuscoâ€™s Rotary Club will hold a community and scholarship auction Tuesday, March 18 at Churubusco High School.
A buffet dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. and the auction will begin at 6 p.m. The dinner is offered for a freewill donation.
Area merchants and businesses have donated various items for auction.
