Portside Pizza will host a pair of fundraisers designed to raise money for the annual Tri Lake fireworks. On Saturday, June 9, beginning at 2 p.m., a hog roast will be held which will include a silent auction, a corn hole tournament and live music. Anyone wanting to donate items to the silent auction should call Portside Pizza at 691-3333.On Saturday, June 16, a golf outing at Crooked Lake Golf Course will be held. The event will begin at 10 a.m. Sign up will be held at Portside Pizza.
Francineâ€™s Friends Mobile Mammography coach makes getting a screening mammogram quick, easy and convenient. Many insurance plans are accepted and funding is available to cover expenses for women who do not have sufficient financial resources. The mobile mammography program is a partnership of the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Breast Diagnostic Center and Francineâ€™s Friends.

Patriots welcome keynote speaker
The Whitley County Patriots will welcome Professor Maurice Moshe Eisenstein, PhD. as the keynote speaker at their meeting in June. A well-known associate professor of political science at Purdue University-Calumet, Professor Eisenstein will share his experiences of anti-semitism and why Jews and Christians should be concerned about the recent rise in anti-Jewish sentiment.The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at The Church of the Nazarene located at 506 N. Main St., Columbia City.
Ice cream social
The Cleveland Township Fire Department will host its annual ice cream social Saturday, June 16 at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Cleveland Township Fire Department and will feature homemade ice cream, hamburgers and desserts. This yearâ€™s Northern Indiana Lakes Festival will be Saturday, June 9, at Center Lake in Warsaw from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will continue on Sunday, June 10, at Winona Lake from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Northern Indiana Lakes Festival is a celebration of one of the areaâ€™s most precious natural resources - water. Class of 1943 reunion
The Columbia City High School class of 1943 will have a reunion at Big Gâ€™s restaurant Saturday, June 16, at noon.
A riverside charter bus trip will take place Saturday, July 28, to Chicago for $55. In August, there will be a trip to FireKeepers Casino. That trip will take place Sunday, Aug. 5, and will cost $35. This includes $20 slot play and $5 food credit. For more information contact Lisa Kimmell 739-7159.
Pool and splash pad
The Splash Pad will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. Those who wish to rent the Splash Pad for birthday parties can do that Monday through Friday before the pad opens at noon. The pool will be open every day. Hours are Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. and Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Swim team sign up has started and begins Monday, June 4.

Business and tech expo
The Northern Indiana Business and Technology Expo will be Tuesday, June 12 to Wednesday, June 13, at the Orthopaedic Capital Center in Winona Lake. It is a free, two day event, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m on Wednesday. For more visit www.nibexpo.com.
A gathering to celebrate and remember the life of Richard Kit Redman will be held Saturday, June 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Columbia City Elks Lodge #1417, 109 S. Main St., Columbia City. Kit Redman passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 22, at his home in Savannah, Ga. He is survived by his wife. Event planners said, â€śPlease join Kitâ€™s relatives, friends, classmates, teachers and football team members (he was captain of the undefeated 1967 CCJHS team) to share thoughts, stories, laughs and toasts to a really great guy. We hope to see you there.â€ť

S.Whitley park fundraiser
South Whitley Park will host a fundraiser a called â€śPicnic In the Parkâ€ť Saturday, June 23rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a free will donation for food. Tickets can be purchased at the event for kidsâ€™ games and prizes, activities, face painting, bounce house and dunk tank. There will be live kidsâ€™ music entertainment. All funds raised will go to help fund the second side of the park, Adventure Mania. For every $1 raised, Dekko will match it with $2 up to $5,000.
Columbia City High School will hold its graduation ceremony in the gym at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 8.
The Churubusco Jr.-Sr. High School graduation will be Friday, June 8 at 7 p.m.
Whitko High School graduation will be Friday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m.
