Fireworks fundraiserPortside Pizza will host a pair of fundraisers designed to raise money for the annual Tri Lake fireworks. On Saturday, June 9, beginning at 2 p.m., a hog roast will be held which will include a silent auction, a corn hole tournament and live music. Anyone wanting to donate items to the silent auction should call Portside Pizza at 691-3333.On Saturday, June 16, a golf outing at Crooked Lake Golf Course will be held. The event will begin at 10 a.m. Sign up will be held at Portside Pizza.Mobile mammographyFrancine’s Friends Mobile Mammography coach makes getting a screening mammogram quick, easy and convenient. Many insurance plans are accepted and funding is available to cover expenses for women who do not have sufficient financial resources. The mobile mammography program is a partnership of the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Breast Diagnostic Center and Francine’s Friends. A well-known associate professor of political science at Purdue University-Calumet, Professor Eisenstein will share his experiences of anti-semitism and why Jews and Christians should be concerned about the recent rise in anti-Jewish sentiment.The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at The Church of the Nazarene located at 506 N. Ice cream socialThe Cleveland Township Fire Department will host its annual ice cream social Saturday, June 16 at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Cleveland Township Fire Department and will feature homemade ice cream, hamburgers and desserts. Main St., Columbia City. Kit Redman passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 22, at his home in Savannah, Ga. He is survived by his wife. Event planners said, “Please join Kit’s relatives, friends, classmates, teachers and football team members (he was captain of the undefeated 1967 CCJHS team) to share thoughts, stories, laughs and toasts to a really great guy. S.Whitley park fundraiserSouth Whitley Park will host a fundraiser a called “Picnic In the Park” Saturday, June 23rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a free will donation for food. Tickets can be purchased at the event for kids’ games and prizes, activities, face painting, bounce house and dunk tank. There will be live kids’ music entertainment. All funds raised will go to help fund the second side of the park, Adventure Mania. For every $1 raised, Dekko will match it with $2 up to $5,000.
