Ice cream social
The Cleveland Township Fire Department will host its annual ice cream social Saturday at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Cleveland Township Fire Department and will feature homemade ice cream, hamburgers and desserts. Class reunion
The Columbia City High School class of 1943, will have a reunion at Big G’s restaurant Saturday at noon.

Bloodmobile
The Red Cross Blood-mobile will be visiting Columbia City United Methodist Church, 605 North Forest Pkwy., lower level, on Thursday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments will be taken first but walk-ins are welcome. Call 1-800-red-cross for an appointment.

Park fundraiser
South Whitley Park will host a fund raiser called “Picnic In the Park” Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a free will donations for food. Tickets can be purchased at the event for kids’ games with prizes, activities, face painting, bounce house and a dunk tank. There will be live kids’ music entertainment. All money raised will go to help fund the second side of the park, Adventure Mania. For every $1 raised, Dekko will match it with $2 up to $5,000.

Library book sale
Friends of the Peabody Public Library are having a book sale Thursday, June 28 to Saturday, June 30. The sale will be held in the downstairs portion of the library. The sale will be open to members only on June 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. and then open to the public from 6 to 8 p.m. On Friday, June 29 to Saturday, June 30, the sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Class reunion
The Whitko class of 1972 will host its 40th class reunion, Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Larwill Community Building. Event organizers are still trying to locate several classmates including: David Swartz, Randy Walter, Terry Neer Click, Deb Reed Blank, Kathy Maggart Derheimer, Juanita Wilson Brison, Dale Gerard, Denise Hart, Dennis Hull, Mike Swartz, Lindsey Slater, Larry Kahn and Judy Matheny. Injury prevention
Whitley County medicare beneficiaries are invited to attend “Falls and Injury Prevention.” The seminar will be Monday, June 18, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Whitley County Senior Center. The center is located at 710 Opportunity Dr., Columbia City. This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are accepted but not required. Ice cream social
At Living Water Lutheran Church will host the 7th annual Ice Cream Social, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Proceeds from the benefit will go to Witnessing Our Lord’s Forgiveness (WOLF) youth group. In addition to ice cream, the church will also serve cake, hot dogs, chili dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, sloppy joes, pop, water and floats. At Living Water Lutheran Church is located at 1197 S. Car show benefit
The Columbia City Marching Eagles will sponsor a car show, motorcycle show and ride, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The event will be held at Columbia City Eagles Aerie 1906 located at 306 W. Van Buren St., Columbia City, and all proceeds will benefit the band program at CCHS. Those wanting to showcase cars and motorcycles can register that day starting at 9 a.m. The cost to register is $20. Pre-registration is possible at a discounted cost of $15 and must be received by Friday.

Dinner and music
The Columbia City Marching Eagles will have a hog roast, Saturday, June 16, at 4 p.m. The cost for the dinner is $10. School Shots
The Whitley County Health Department will have walk-in clinics this Thursday as well as June 21 and 28 and again on July 26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for school shots. For more information call the immunization clinic at 244-2310.

Benefit sale
Cornerstone Fellowship Church will hold a yard sale Saturday to benefit the church. There will be a bake sale and many give aways. The church is located at 6331 N. Ind. 109. For more information, contact 248-2248 or 248-6444.

Class reunion
Columbia City High School, class of 1987, will hold its reunion Saturday, July 21. Social and cocktail hour starts at 5 p.m. and an outdoor cookout will be at 6 p.m. The reunion will be at Port Side Pizza (Tri-Lakes), 5310 N Old 102, Columbia City. The cost is $20 per person or $30 per couple. Mail reservations and money to Angie at 1138 S. Wolf Rd., Columbia City, IN 46725 by July 1st.
