Marvin Reynolds, 77

COLUMBIA CITY — Marvin Lee Reynolds, 77, of Columbia City, died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Parkview Oaks where he was admitted on Friday.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Greenville, Ohio, a son of Miles E. and Marjorie D. (Hodge) Reynolds.
As a young boy, his family moved to Fort Wayne and then in 1937 to Wolf Lake. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On July 11, 1957, he was inducted into the U.S. Army. A military policeman, he was honorably discharged June 30, 1963.
On Aug. 5, 1961, he was united in marriage to Roberta A. Helblig. They have made their home in Whitley County, moving to their home in Columbia City in August, 1995.
He was employed at International Harvester/Navistar for 20 years, retiring in 1983. From 1984 until 2000 he worked for Dana Corporation in Syracuse.
His memberships included Eagles Lodge #1906.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Roberta; three children, Linda Reynolds of Columbia City, Michael Lee (Cindy) Reynolds of Fort Wayne and Mark Edward Reynolds of South Whitley; two grandchildren, Bradley (Holly) Reynolds and Trisha Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Reynolds and Kira Reynolds; and a sister, Nancy Deutsch of Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Rathbun.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery. The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
