Mary Deborah Boone, 90, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor Inc., Columbia City.
Born Dec. 22, 1923, in Sharpsville, she was the daughter of James Irvin and Rose Adeline (Gossett) Davis.
Mrs. Boone was raised in Kokomo, but spent most of her adult lifetime in Terre Haute and moved to Columbia City to be with her daughter in 2012.
She attended Kokomo High School and on Oct. 27, 1944, she married Herman F. Boone at Great Lakes, Ill. She retired from Columbia Housewares, Terre Haute. She was a member of Union Christian Church, Terre Haute.
Surviving relatives include her son, Ralph A. Boone of Terre Haute; daughter, Patricia A. Hatcher of Columbia City; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman F. Boone and son, Larry M. Boone.
At the request of Mrs. Boone, there will be a private family visitation at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with graveside service following at 1 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Dale Payne officiating. Burial will be at Sharpsville Cemetery.
