SOUTH WHITLEY — South Whitley United Methodist Church hosted an American Red Cross (ARC) Blood Drive Wednesday in memory of Ellie Olivia Walter and Emma Grace Hindbaugh.
“They are now angels in Heaven with wings to carry our prayers to God,” said event coordinators. “Ellie and Emma both passed away too soon.”
Ellie passed away at 3 months old and Emma was 6 years old.
Cory and Brittany (Waybright) Hindbaugh are the parents of Emma. Surviving grandparents are Larry and Deb Waybright and Ron and Janet Hindbaugh.
Marc and Brooke (Weber) Walter are the parents of Ellie.
The families decided to commemorate the memory of Ellie and Emma by helping to build the nation’s blood supply through the ARC.
Team Supervisor Julie Haire said a total of 100 units of blood were packed at the drive. This is above the 65 units normally collected at the South Whitley location.
