Mickey Allen Zumbrun, 73, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at his home. Born on June 16, 1939 in Wolf Lake, he was the son of Timothy L. and Lulu (Clingerman) Zumbrun. He graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1957 and served in the U.S. Army.
On July 11, 1964, he married Dianne F. Ruckman at Larwill United Methodist Church. He has been a Whitley County lifetime resident and farmer. He worked at Dana Weatherhead for 35 years. He was a member of Weatherhead Pioneer Club and Wolf Lake United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Dianne F. Zumbrun of Columbia City; two sons, Mark A. and Thomas B. (Paula) Zumbrun both of Columbia City; daughter, Brenda (Rockey) Hall of Hixon, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Evan, Landon and Cayden Hall; three stepgrandchildren, Virgil, Jr., Crystal and Michael Rowe; four stepgreat grandchildren, Zane Mullins, Hayden Kaminski, Ava and Marshall Rowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Zumbrun and sister, Charlotte Kyler.
Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Bock of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church officiating.
The burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Zumbrunâ€™s memory to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
