Missionary to speak at Blue River Church

June 15, 2013

Fred (left) and Janet Beams will be guest teachers at Blue River Church of the Brethren’s vacation Bible school event. Fred will be sharing with the congregation Sunday morning during the worship service.

COLUMBIA CITY — Missionary Fred Beam will speak during the Sunday morning worship service at Blue River Church of the Brethren, 3040 E. 700 North, Columbia City Sunday.
His sermon topic will be "A Lot about a Liddell…and a Little about Lot." It will be a Father’s day message oriented towards missions. Fred and his wife Janet will also share the children’s story for the morning.

Fred and Janet will also be helping lead the Blue River Vacation Bible School, June 17 through 21 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. They will be sharing with each class and will hold closing devotions for each session.

The theme this year is "BugZone: Transformed by our Big God!" which suits the Beams since Fred is a Ph.D. entomologist. He and Janet served for many years as missionaries with Africa Inland Mission in Kenya, and then as International director of AIM in Britain.
