MUNICIPAL COLLABORATION: City looking forward to providing electrical support

September 28, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — With the Columbia City/South Whitley utility agreement close to finalization, Columbia City officials said they are looking forward to providing contracted electrical support to the town.
“Everything is worked out and everybody seems happy,” said Columbia City Electric Department Superintendent Larry Whetstone at Tuesday’s Columbia City Common Council meeting.
“So we are responsible for South Whitley’s maintenance assuming they agree. All indications are they want to get this completed.”
Mayor Ryan Daniel said the city’s vehicle usage, manpower and overtime will be paid for by the town.
