Nadean Juanita Lange, 90, Columbia City, formerly of Huntington, passed away peacefully at 5:37 p.m. April 5, 2013, at Parkview Hospital, Columbia City.
Mrs. Lange was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Huntington to John G. and Thalya Griffith Ross. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Langeâ€™s first marriage was to John Woodrow, who was killed during World War II. She married Dwain Lange Aug. 9, 1947, and he survives in Columbia City.
Mrs. Lange graduated from Huntington High School in 1940. She was the school secretary/treasurer for Central Elementary in Huntington for more than 30 years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for the Forks of the Wabash.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Lange is survived by her son, Jerry (Deb) Lange of Columbia City; daughter, Judy Beehler of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Courtney (Terry) Reimer of Fort Wayne, Jessica (Nate) Wright of Churubusco, and Adam and Brendan Beehler, both of Milwaukee; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, two sisters preceded her in death, Nonnie Nevitt and Rosie Kahlenbeck.
Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Additional calling hours will be held Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery following the funeral service.
