New fire truck sparks funding talks

December 5, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — For the last several months, Columbia City’s fire department has been in the process of purchasing a new truck.

A committee was formed, specs were sent out, and several bids were awarded at last week’s Columbia City Board of Works meeting.

The fire truck committee met Nov. 2 to review several bids before choosing 911 Fleet and Fire Equipment’s bid for $499,529.

With the new truck comes the need for new equipment. The Board of Works also approved $109,824.89 in equipment from multiple vendors.
