NEW PRINCIPAL: WCCS school board appoints candidate

June 7, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Consolidated School (WCCS) board approved the appointment of Jacob Hoag as the principal of Northern Heights Elementary School at their meeting Monday.
The position required attention since Robert Hoke retired after 27 years of service.
After screening several candidates, Dr. Patricia O’Connor said the interview team had a recommendation ready for the board’s approval.
“Based on the consensus and collaboration with the interview team, I would like to recommend the appointment of Mr. Jacob Hoag to the position of principal at Northern Heights Elementary School,”said O’Connor.
While Hoag has been working at Madison Elementary School in Warsaw, he has expressed a wish to come back to Columbia City.
O’Connor said she believed Hoag’s experience in another district will aid Northern Heights in the future.
“Mr. Hoag possesses extensive experience in the area of school improvement, instruction, curriculum, community relations and has served on numerous committees,” said Hoag. “We are very pleased to bring this recommendation to you.”
The board said they trusted the interview team’s decision and approved the appointment of Hoag as Northern Height’s next principal.
